Building the Future of Agribusiness
Inno Resource Development Sdn. Bhd.
(formerly known as Inno Fisheries Sdn. Bhd.), a wholly owned company of Innoprise Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (ICSB), was incorporated to explore new investment potentials/opportunities in agribusiness related industries through smart partnership; develop a pool of skilled workers/contract farmers/entrepreneurs through training to support the industries; and promote socioeconomic developments in agribusinesses related areas.
Inno Resource Development Sdn. Bhd. has strategically ventured on the following projects:
Coral Project (Semporna)
This is a pioneer project in the commercialisation of cultured live corals to meet the increasing demand for marine ornamentals worldwide. The mariculture of corals has been proven successful as a sustainable means of supplying hard and soft coral species.
Cultured corals adapt better to aquarium conditions compared to wild corals. As cultured corals satisfied the requirements of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), the project has obtained the export permit and CITES for the sale of cultured corals. The project also provides rehabilitation services for destroyed coral reef to preserve the coastal ecosystems.
The project has expanded to include ornamental fish as a "package" for aquarium hobbyists and has obtained the export permit for the sale of ornamental fish as well as the import permit for food fish fry.
Pitas Shrimp Park (Pitas)
Sunlight Inno Seafood Sdn. Bhd., a joint venture company between Inno Resource Development Sdn. Bhd. and Sunlight Seafood (Sabah) Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Sunlight Group (a shrimp producer and processor in Perak, Malaysia) is implementing the Pitas Shrimp Park focusing on Pacific White or Whiteleg shrimp which include hatchery, R&D lab, training centre, grow-out ponds and processing plant.
The project involves the development of entrepreneurial farmers (contract farming) through training and technical assistance.
Pilot Scallop Farming Project (Silam)
A pilot project in scallop farming between Inno Resource Development Sdn. Bhd. and Borneo Scallops Sdn. Bhd. (with affiliation to a scallop producer and processor in China) is still being implemented to assess the suitability of the proposed commercial scallop culture (grow out) using scallop hybrid at the sea space area off Silam, Lahad Datu. Hanging culture relying on longline system with lantern nets was applied for grow-out stage.
A joint venture in a large scale commercial farming for domestic and export markets is in the plan.
